James Jones collection, 1953-1978.

The collection consists of materials relating to motion picture adaptations of Jones's novels From Here To Eternity (1951) and The Thin Red Line (1964), including: a thirty-one page typed mimeograph copy of the picture continuity and fifty-two black-and-white film stills from the 1953 Columbia Pictures production of From Here To Eternity; a typed mimeograph copy of the final draft of the script (ca. 309 pages) by Don McGuire and Harold Gast for a 1979 television film adaptation of From Here To Eternity, a Bennett/Katleman Productions, Columbia Pictures Television production, dated 1978 Jun 12-19; and twelve black-and-white film stills from the 1964 Allied Artists Pictures Corporation release of The Thin Red Line.
